About the event
For the past several years, MaKayla Renee, founder of Hair Like Kayla’s and Renee’s Impact, has been committed to giving back to the Nashville community through school giveaways and community events that support local students and families.
What began as a personal effort through Hair Like Kayla’s has continued to grow each year with the support of community partners and volunteers. In 2026, MaKayla officially launched Renee’s Impact, a nonprofit initiative created to expand these efforts and provide a stronger foundation for community outreach.
This year marks the 4th Annual Back 2 School Bash, now organized through Renee’s Impact.
The Back 2 School Bash is designed to support students and families preparing for the upcoming school year by providing school supplies, helpful resources, and a fun community experience to close out the summer.
why this event matters
Preparing for a new school year can be expensive for many families, and those costs can quickly become overwhelming. The Back 2 School Bash was created to help ease that burden while also creating a positive and uplifting community experience for students and their families.
Our goal is to provide essential school supplies, connect families with helpful resources, and remind students that their community is rooting for their success. By coming together to support one another, we hope to help students start the school year feeling confident, prepared, and encouraged to do their best.

The Back 2 School Bash is designed for students and families across the Nashville community. Whether a family needs extra support preparing for the school year or simply wants to enjoy a positive community event before school begins, this event is for them.
We welcome students, parents, and community members who want to connect, receive helpful resources, and celebrate the start of a new school year together. Our goal is to create an environment where families feel supported, students feel encouraged, and the community can come together to invest in the success of our youth.

The Back 2 School Bash is made possible through the support of community partners, local businesses, and volunteers who believe in investing in students and families. When our community comes together, we are able to create an event that truly supports and uplifts local youth.
Partners contribute in many ways — whether by donating school supplies, sponsoring services like haircuts or manicures, providing food for families, volunteering their time during the event, or contributing financially to help cover event needs. Every contribution plays an important role in helping us make this experience meaningful for the students and families we serve.
Renee’s Impact is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and community support allows us to continue growing this initiative each year and expanding the impact we can make together.
